Hilda Solis Endorses Maria Elena Durazo for Los Angeles County Supervisor

Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis proudly announces her endorsement of State Senator Maria Elena Durazo in her campaign to succeed her as the representative for the First District on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. Hilda Solis, who has dedicated her career to advocating for social justice, equity, and community empowerment, believes that Maria Elena Durazo is the ideal candidate to continue the vital work of improving the lives of residents in the First District. Durazo, a renowned labor leader and community activist, has a proven track record of championing workers’ rights, affordable housing, and comprehensive healthcare access. “My personal hero, Dolores Huerta, calls Maria Elena Durazo ‘brave’.  As always, Dolores is right. Maria Elena has been arrested 13 times in the fight for better wages, health care for all immigrants, and respect for working people.  Maria Elena is serious about change. “I proudly endorse Maria Elena Durazo to represent our families as our next LA County Supervisor.  She will continue to keep us safe, build more affordable housing, protect vulnerable children, and keep immigrant families together.” As a former Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, Durazo has effectively mobilized thousands of workers to advocate for fair wages and safe working conditions. Her leadership extends beyond labor to encompass a broad coalition of community members advocating for social change. “I am honored to receive the endorsement of Hilda Solis, a true champion for our communities,” said Durazo. “Hilda has paved the way for progress in Los Angeles County, and she leaves a legacy of fighting for equity, justice, and opportunity for all.”
